Guidelines for Creating the Yangtze River Tour Travel Brochure

Microsoft Word Version (click here)

Overview: Imagine you are a travel agent who has spent a few weeks in China touring the Yangtze River and its tributaries. A group of your clients have just come home from a Nile River tour in Egypt and want to explore the Yangtze River in China as their next trip. They have asked you to focus on the theme: The role of water in shaping the historical and cultural development of civilizations.

Use what you have learned from your Yangtze River Web Tour and the ideas you recorded on the Yangtze River Web Tour Notes to create a travel brochure describing six important sites along the Yangtze River that you think your clients should see.

Follow these guidelines:

  1. Give your travel brochure an interesting and catchy title.
  2. Create your travel brochure for an adult audience that has never been to China.
  3. Write a short introduction that explains the importance of the Yangtze River to the past and current people of China.
  4. Include a separate page for each of the six places you think your clients should visit. Each page should contain the following information:

ü      A four sentence minimum description of the place and one of the sightseeing areas that can be seen there.

ü      A four to five sentence description of the significance the Yangtze River’s relation to the location.

ü      At least, one visual, such as an illustration, map, or picture.

  1. Be creative in designing and formatting your travel brochure. The final draft must be written neatly or typed.
